Kelli's graduated from high school and exchange student from Switzerland

For the past week we have had a student from Switzerland staying with us. His name is Valentin L'Eplattenier from the small town of Bussigny. His native tongue is French and he doesn't speak English very well, so communication is interesting. He is a nice kid and seems to be enjoying it here. He especially likes baseball and disc golf both of which are not common in Switzerland. He will be with us for about two more weeks.

Kelli graduated from high school on June 7 and then left a few days later to spend the summer with Becca in Provo. Becca and Jana came back for Kelli's graduation party and graduation. It was great.

Kayaking on the Kinni

Jana and Becca came to Wisconsin to help celebrate Kelli's graduation from high school. We went kayaking on the Kinnickinnic River. It was great, although we got hung up on the river bottom several times.

Shae finished his track season by running in the 4 X 800 m relay at conference, regional and sectional meets. He had a good season. It the regional meet he ran the 1500 m race just under 5 minutes with a time of 4:59:92.

Seminary Graduation and Track and Field

Sunday Kelli graduated from seminary. She will soon be graduating from high school. She is especially excited about that. Shae has been running on the track team for the high school. Today was the conference meet. He ran the third leg of the 4 x 800 m relay. Here he is handing the baton to the Collin, their final runner. The relay team took 2nd in the conference.

Patricia and Kelli's Vacation

During Sring Break week (March 16 to 20) Patricia and Kelli took a little vacation and went on a cruise from Florida to the Bahamas and Key West. They had a great time, even though it rained most of the day they had planned to spend on the beach. Patricia used plenty of sun screen and only had sun burn on the tops of her feet. Kelli didn't use sun screen and got a nice tan.

Dan and Rachel's Wedding

Dan and Rachel were married in Dallas, Texas, on November 26, 2008. We had a great time and hope you enjoy a few photos from the wedding day.

Trip to Dallas, Texas

We just returned from a short trip to Dallas, Texas. The wedding of Dan and Rachel Bastian was the best thing, but we also enjoyed being together with our family. Besides the wedding, we visited the site that John F. Kennedy was killed. We had a Thanksgiving Dinner, cooked in a couple of motel microwave ovens. Most of us also visited a beautiful arboretum in Ft. Worth.
